Crime Synopsis:
In 2019, tensions were high in America. As of the writing of this report, tensions are only higher. Far-right and far-left groups emerged throughout the country, many of them armed and violent. Floyd became involved and began flying transport for far-right elements with his own privately owned helicopter. When the radical right-wing group, "the Michigan Militia," seized and occupied a National Guard base, Floyd flew them supplies and ammunition. His helicopter was shot down by the National Guard on the 6th of October, 2019, and he was captured, injured, from the crash-site. He was charged with the crime of aiding terrorists and was found guilty on the 28th of October, 2019. He opted for a cryogenic sentence, as he had "nothing to lose." He received his "last" rites and "last" meal on the 4th of November, 2019, before being placed into the cryogenic reserve facility of Michigan.
Biography:
Floyd Neely was born in West Virginia, on the 4th of June, 1968. He was raised in a rural setting, passed High School with respectable grades, and enlisted with the US air force, in hopes of becoming a pilot. He served for 6 years (1986 - 1992) flying for the military before receiving an honorable discharge and retiring back to civilian life. At this point he married his fiance of 3 years, and for their honeymoon they planned a month of vacation throughout Europe.
Tragedy struck when they were abducted by a group of Bosnian Muslims on their way from Italy to Turkey, hoping to see both Rome and Constantinople. During a struggle, Floyd's bride was killed and he was badly wounded. Fortunately, he had not been shot, only slashed by a bayonet and beaten with the Bosnian's rifle. Left to die, he was rescued by a civilian who found him bleeding out in a ditch. Nursed back to health at a local hospital, he found himself stranded in a war-zone, robbed of almost all his belongings and the woman he loved. He took up drinking, found himself incredibly angry at the situation, and joined the war in hopes of vengeance. He volunteered as a pilot for the Bosnian Serbs and spent the next two years in active service. NATO intervention in the war soon followed, and he narrowly avoided being shot down, a near-death experience so startling he retired to a quiet life in the Serbian countryside soon afterwards. Four years later, war broke out in Kosovo, and he again volunteered. By the time that conflict was over, he had done a lot of flying in his life, and had developed a bitter, pessimistic outlook. His family, who he had kept in contact, urgently wanted him to return home, so he did just that in the year 2000, after extensive efforts to mask his participation in the Bosnian and Kosovo wars.
Back in West Virginia, he was startled and angered by the September 11th Attacks. However, his experience as a pilot led him to immediate doubts about the supposed flight-paths of the hijacked aircraft. This led him to take part in numerous conspiracy groups online and offline.
He married another woman in 2003, but the two were unable to have chilren. He led a career as a commercial pilot and also took up helicopter flying at this time. He transitioned from flying a commercial airliner to acting as a news helicopter pilot in 2005, which allowed him to stay closer to home.
His second wife died, tragically, in a car crash in 2014.
Up until 2019, he led a mostly quiet life. With the emergence of unrest in America and domestic terrorism, Floyd Neely got involved. The details of his crime have already been described.
